This is a vertical diptych. Together the two pieces look like a doorway or threshold of some kind, and shows numbers floating, disappearing into the bright light beyond the threshold. The top half shows gray-green numbers representing American soldiers killed each year in Iraq. In the bottom half are red-brown numbers, upside down, representing Iraqi civilians killed each year of the war. The painting can be inverted to show the Iraqi deaths on the top.
